On Wednesday, January 22, 2020, students from South City Catholic Academy’s eighth grade class participated in the Rite of Enrollment. Reverend Craig Holway, pastor designate for the school, presided over the All School Mass and Rite of Enrollment. The school community, god-parents, Confirmation Sponsors, family, friends, and parishioners witnessed this spiritual event as the Confirmation Candidates publicly stated their desire to further their studies and to deepen their initiation into the sacramental life of the Church.
Each of the twenty-three Confirmation Candidates were invited to sign the Rite of Enrollment Ledger as a visible sign of promise to proclaim their faith as they continue to prepare for the sacrament of Confirmation. Each candidate received a medal of the Holy Spirit as a reminder of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit that will be strengthened at Confirmation; wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.
Reverend Michael P. Boehm, Vicar General, will celebrate the Confirmation Mass for South City Catholic Academy on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at 7:00 p.m.
