Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a program that teaches girls the importance of being yourself and treating others with kindness. Over the past several months, a team of 3rd-5th grade girls have gathered together and participated in activities which promote understanding themselves, valuing relationships and teamwork, & recognizing how they can positively shape the world at large. They have built skills such as using a STAR power, showing empathy, choosing friends, and so much more. In addition, the girls also practice building endurance for a final 5K at the end of the program which is held at Forest Park with thousands of other GOTR girls from the surrounding area.
Here are some thoughts of the girls in the program:
“It's the most amazing thing ever”-Madeline S (3rd grade)
