On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, students from South City Catholic Academy’s eighth grade class participated in the Rite of Enrollment. Father Craig Holway, pastor designate for the school, presided over the School Mass and Rite of Enrollment. Due to COVID restrictions, we invited our school community, god-parents, Confirmation Sponsors, family, friends and parishioners to witness this spiritual event through a live-stream from our SCCA Community Facebook page. This spiritual event has become a tradition for SCCA as the Confirmation Candidates publicly stated their desire to further their studies and to deepen their initiation into the sacramental life of the Church.
Each of the eighteen SCCA Confirmation Candidates were invited to sign the Rite of Enrollment Ledger as a visible sign of promise to proclaim their faith as they continue to prepare for the sacrament of Confirmation. Each candidate received a medal of the Holy Spirit as a reminder of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit that will be strengthened at Confirmation; wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.
Bishop Mark Steven Rivituso, Auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of St. Louis, will celebrate the Confirmation Mass for South City Catholic Academy on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. Confirmation will take place at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
